Our Story
Owner Cliff Allbutt comes from a family with deep roots in the drilling industry. His grandfather, Rod McIsaac, founded Midwest Diamond Drilling in Flin Flon, Manitoba — a company that grew from a regional operation into an international enterprise before being acquired by Major Drilling Corp.
Cliff followed that path. He drilled with Midwest across Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories, then with D.W. Coats in British Columbia and the Yukon. In 1996, he returned to the industry and opened Allbutt Mining Supplies — this time on the supply side, drawing on firsthand experience of what drillers and mine operators actually need in the field.
